Dramatic OSIS Election 2014 in Junior High SGM Jakarta

The hot atmosphere of political issues about election of president in Indonesia infected to students and teacher of Junior High in SGM Jakarta. That was caused by OSIS election in academic year 2014/2015.

Process of political education in OSIS Election was begun with regulation making by teachers and students. In this process, both of them made the regulation about who can be chairman candidate of OSIS, the rule of campaign and vote election. Mr. Wandi as Integrative Social’s teacher gave his opinion,” The chairman candidate of OSIS should be smart who have to pass KKM in his/her lesson.”

In the next phase, the teacher selected the candidate. There were 4 candidates who pass in the selection. The candidates were Damar as main actor in Imitate movie, Christianto as chairman in OAK class, Febiola and Angel as great female candidate. 

The journey of OSIS election got its climax on Thursday, September 4^th, 2014. In that day, the candidates conveyed their vision, mission and program in front of panelists and students. The panelists were Mr. Rekno, Mr. Wato, Mr. Wandi, Mr. Afif and Mr. Daryono. Their duties were giving the question to the candidate and giving the feedback. In this session, the supporter of each candidate was very enthusiastic to support their delegation. There was breaking time after this session, but one of the teachers done the survey about the political map in Junior High of SGM Jakarta. The result of survey indicated that there were 2 dominant candidates.

Time of election was coming. The teacher explained about the positive side of candidates. He also persuaded students to choose the best one. “You have to choose the best one who has good program and talent. Don’t choose the worst one although he/she is your friend.” said Mr. Rekno as English teacher. The vote election was run tightly. Febiola and Christianto’s vote was leading and overtake each other. In otherwise, Damar and Angel’s vote run behind Lala and Christianto. In the last election vote there was one vote that determined who can be the chairman of OSIS because Febiola and Christianto had the same vote. The vote which was read by Ms. Nisa fallen to Christianto. Finally,Christianto as chairman of Oak elected to be chairman of OSIS in Junior High of SGM Jakarta. (Aff)
